The Entrance Ramp to New Bypass (Eastbound)

Here are some more pictures of the US 64 Bypass construction from a visit I made a few weeks before I took my brother up. This was the first ever time I had been to this portion of the site and I was very excited. I had been driving by it for such a long time and finally got my opportunity that day. Hint: Do not leave your car flashers on for an extended period of time unless you enjoy waiting around for AAA to re charge your car battery in the hot sun.

The end of the tube that you see is actually the end of a sign support. You can't tell from this distance but the diameter is big enough to sit inside. Very helpful to block the sun while waiting for AAA to show up.

New Bridge

So there must be a reason this is all worth the sunburn. Please follow me along the road and see if you think so too...

Looking down on westbound ramp

This is another ramp below the bridge that I was walking on. I saw a dump truck go down it, it looked like a toy. The little building is a sewage treatment plant. From what I understand there was a question as to whether the smell would be too strong for people driving by. In practice I think it really depends upon the time of day, or possibly the day of the week.
